Upcoming Events

Once the pandemic recedes, Susanna  and the Neep&Tattie Duo will be available for performances  including vocal and fiddle music at private events, retirement homes, hospitals etc. Susanna  and Dorothy are currently in training to be  Certified Music Practitioners through the MHTP program at the Longy School of Music, Cambridge MA, specializing in providing music to clients in hospitals and palliative care.

Celebrating Victorian Women!

​

Dorothy de Val will be giving a paper on Fanny, Clara and Louise plus their English counterparts on October 21, 2022:   "Away with the Petticoat Pianists!: Women Composers of the Early Victorian Period",  109, Harry Crowe Room, Atkinson Building, York University, 4700 Keele Street, Toronto M3J 1P3. Paid parking available nearby in parking structure.  The paper will be in the afternoon session, 1:45 - 3:00 pm. Contact dorothydeval@gmail.com for details.

Fanny, Clara and Louise: Cherchez la femme!

 Saturday, November 12, 2022, 2pm. Heliconian Hall, 35 Hazelton Avenue, Toronto M5R 2E3. 

Postponed from last May, this concert showcases three brilliant piano trios by three giants of the nineteenth century: Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, Clara Wieck Schumann, and Louise Dumont Farrenc, with Velma Ko, violin; Nancy Nourse, flute; Kye Marshall, cello and Dorothy de Val, piano.  Names of those previously registered last spring are being kept on file so that we can recontact you. We hope you can join us at the Heliconian Hall, the perfect venue for chamber music. This is a fundraising concert for SCAN! - Seniors for Climate Action Now!  Suggested donation: $25, which can be made at the concert.  Contact dorothydeval@gmail.com to reserve your place as space is limited.
